Today we learned about Plickers, Admongo, Nearpod, and Lino.
Plickers- A great way to do a quick formative assessment of what the children took out of the lesson. It is important to remember that when you print out the cards for the students, that there is enough ink to make the image black; grey wont help you.
Admongo- I wish I knew about this 2nd term for my ESL class when we were going over Ad’s and they had to create their own. I will be sharing this with my ESL teacher to use for next year.
Nearpod- This is a great interactive presentation for students of all ages. There are many premade presentations for English and Science that I will look to be using for next year. I will be sharing this will my co-teachers and heads of department for them to looking into using in their lessons. Nearpod works on Ipad/Iphone and Androids. However, the app is only for the student view. The teacher view must use an actual computer/laptop.
Lino- This is a great site for student’s to organize their thoughts or responses to questions. They are able to check off the ones they have answered or task completed.
Today was a great session and I can’t wait to start to share and use these in the classrooms!
