Thank you WIRED Hack!

I wanted to thank Dodie and everybody who helped organize and attended the WIRED Hack on Thursday last week. I feel truly inspired to be exposed to and utilize technology as much as I can in my classroom. In Year 6 maths on Sunday morning, I played an online maths game via BBC and the children didn’t want to leave the classroom!

  1. I’ve trialled using the literacy games from http://www.abcya.com with boys in Year 7 and Year 8 and have been amazed at how engaged they have been. On the face of it, the games seems quite simple and primary- like, but the boys really enjoy them. I asked them to give me feedback about the games and what they have learnt and they didn’t seem to mind that they were learning about grammar and spelling, they all said they had fun. Very worthwhile!
